FX conversion cost calculator

Compare banks and other options: how much RMB you actually get in a year

Example: Currency: USD, Monthly receipts: USD 50,000.00, Payments received per month: 10, Net per year (bank): CNY 3,996,000.00 (at the 2026-10-09 central parity rate).

RMB received per year = monthly receipts × 12 × conversion rate × (1 − fee rate) − fee per payment × payments × 12. A rate gap of 0.01 also grows with the amount.

Worked example

The same two options, the same amount a month, a different number of payments (example data):

CaseOption A, bank (a year)Option B (a year)Result
USD 50,000 a month in 10 payments; A 6.6900, CNY 150 a payment; B 6.7000, 0.3%CNY 3,996,000.00CNY 4,007,940.00Option B brings CNY 11,940.00 more a year

With many payments the fixed fee per payment adds up; with large amounts in few payments the fee rate matters more.

FAQ

What does FX conversion cost calculator give for an example?
Example: Currency: USD, Monthly receipts: USD 50,000.00, Payments received per month: 10, Net per year (bank): CNY 3,996,000.00 (at the 2026-10-09 central parity rate).
Which matters more: the fee rate or the fee per payment?
With large amounts and few payments, the fee rate matters more; with small amounts and many payments, the fixed fee per payment matters more. So the same option can come out ahead or behind depending on your volume.
Why aren’t options B and C pre-filled with platform names?
We don’t pre-fill quotes for any payment platform. Enter the actual quote you’ve been given, so the comparison means something.
Can I compare several currencies?
Yes. When you add a currency, each option gets a rate field for that currency.
