MCP server

MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is the common way for an AI assistant to call outside tools. chukoudan’s MCP server gives an assistant the site’s 12 read-only tools: each calculator runs the same code as its page, and the assistant can also read the site’s public data and look up an export VAT refund rate by customs code.

For anyone who wants export VAT refunds, quotes, CBM, container loading and exchange rates inside their own AI assistant, agent or workflow. The server writes nothing and needs no key.

12 tools

The names and descriptions come from the MCP server itself (each description is Chinese first, then English), and every tool is read-only. How inputs and outputs are written is in the API documentation and the OpenAPI file.

Loosely written input is read: 1,000, full-width digits and lower-case currency codes are fine, and a blank optional input counts as not given; lookup_refund_rate can also take the one 8- or 10-digit customs code out of a whole sentence. Input is rewritten only when there is exactly one way to read it, and the answer’s normalized says what was understood; what cannot be read in one way is refused, with a Chinese-first sentence saying why.

In the answers of the calculators (export tax refund, quotes, FX conversion cost, CBM, container loading, currency conversion, unit conversion, shipping marks), every step and warning has a message: one ready sentence with its figures filled in. Where it is there, an assistant can say it as it is and need not work the figures out again.

An example

A person asks: “What is the export VAT refund rate of customs code 8506101110?” The assistant calls lookup_refund_rate with:

Without a date, the answer marks the period in force today (Beijing time) and names the day it used in lookup.in_force_on; for an export on another day, also pass export_date, the export date on the customs declaration.
